After you've slept in the same bed in the same settlement for a full week, you gain the ability to offer Quests to NPCs. If accepted, the NPC will immediately take action to pursue the
Quest, and will always clearly succeed or fail within 4 weeks. You can make any task a Quest, so long as it fulfills at least 3 of the following criteria:
• Gathering a large number of similar objects
• Stealing something guarded and secret
• Traveling a great distance
• Navigating a treacherous landscape
• Achieving something unprecedented and extraordinary
You can only have a number of Quests equal to your Questgiver level active at any time. If you leave your current settlement, all quests are immediately cancelled. Any NPCs involved are met with catastrophe, which they will understand you are somehow responsible for.
B Plot
For each active quest, gain +1 on all dice rolls for any actions wholly unrelated to life or work outside your settlement. When any NPC returns from a completed quest, you can declare a positive improvement to the settlement that has occurred in their absence.
Repeatable Farm
If you offer an NPC a Quest they've already completed, if it can be done again, they're guaranteed to complete it.
Chekov's Heirloom Blade
1/day, you may reveal that a mundane item you have onhand has always secretly possessed a storied history and fantastical capabilities. Within a week, travelers from afar will arrive seeking it for themselves.
